Mimo Pro vs Max: Differences, Prices and Which Plan to Choose

Pro is mobile-only, Max works everywhere and costs much more. What each plan includes, who it suits, and a cheaper alternative if price decides.

Mimo's pricing page looks simple until you notice the small print: one plan works on your phone, the other works everywhere. That single difference decides most of the choice, so it's worth understanding before you start a trial. Everything below was checked on mimo.org and Mimo's help center on 1 November 2026.

What's the difference between Mimo Pro and Mimo Max?

Pro is a mobile plan. Max is a mobile-plus-computer plan with extra learning features on top.

Prices are the ones mimo.org showed us in euros; your currency and exact price may differ. Mimo says yearly billing saves more than 33%, and the 7-day free trial is only available on a yearly subscription.

Who should choose Mimo Pro?

Pro makes sense if your phone is genuinely where you'll learn: on the commute, in breaks, in short sessions before bed. You get the whole course library in the app, no ads, unlimited keys and a monthly streak repair.

The catch is the website. Mimo's own FAQ is clear that Pro works only in the mobile app, and on the web you stay on the free plan's intro sections. If you expect to sit at a laptop and write longer programs at some point, Pro will start to feel narrow.

Who should choose Mimo Max?

Max is the plan for people who want Mimo to be their main way of learning to code. It adds full web access, unlimited use of the AI coding tutor, unlimited guided projects, desktop-only projects, professional certificates and the Max community.

It's also the most expensive option by a wide margin: €39.99 a month, or about €300 a year on yearly billing. That's reasonable if you follow one of Mimo's career paths seriously. It's a lot to commit before you know whether daily practice suits you.

Is there a cheaper way to get the same features?

It depends which feature you actually need. Two things set Mimo Max apart: learning on a computer and AI help. Both are available more cheaply elsewhere.

Coddy is the closest alternative. It's built around the same idea of short daily lessons, but the trade-offs are different:

  • The free plan includes every course, on the website and in the app. The limit is a daily energy allowance, not locked content. We explain how it works in Is Coddy free?
  • Every plan works on a computer. There's no mobile-only tier, and you write real code in a browser editor from the first lesson.
  • Certificates are free. Finishing a course gives you a verifiable certificate on any plan.
  • AI help starts free. Every Coddy plan gets 3 questions a day to Bugsy, its AI tutor. Coddy Pro makes it unlimited for $14.99 a month or $119.99 a year on the US App Store (checked 18 October 2026) — roughly the price of Mimo Pro, but with web access included.

Where Mimo is stronger: structured career paths (Full-Stack, Front-End, Back-End, Python), more guided projects on Max, and a very polished mobile app — it's rated 4.8 from about 111,000 ratings on the US App Store.

How to decide in five minutes

  1. Will you learn on a computer at all? If yes, Mimo Pro is the wrong plan. Choose Mimo Max or an alternative that includes the web.
  2. Do you need a career path with projects? If yes, Mimo Max is built for that.
  3. Is price the main concern? Start on a free plan that doesn't lock courses, like Coddy's, and pay only once a daily limit actually gets in your way.
  4. Still undecided? Use Mimo's 7-day Max trial and Coddy's free plan side by side for a week. The one you open without thinking about it is your answer.

Common questions

Is Mimo Pro worth it? Only if you'll learn almost entirely on your phone. Pro unlocks the full mobile course library, certificates and an ad-free experience, but it doesn't include the website.

Does Mimo Pro work on a computer? No. Mimo Pro works only in the mobile app. On the website you get the same limited access as the free plan; full web access requires Mimo Max.

How much does Mimo Max cost? On mimo.org it showed €39.99 a month, or €24.99 a month on yearly billing, at the time of checking. Prices vary by country and promotion, so check the final price at checkout.

Does Mimo have a free trial? Yes, a 7-day free trial, but only on a yearly subscription. You can cancel during the trial without being charged.

What's a good free alternative to Mimo? Coddy's free plan includes every course on the website and in the app, with a daily energy limit instead of locked lessons. Certificates are free too. Compare the paid plans in Is Coddy Pro worth it?
